Buttons and Keyboard Shortcut Keys

1. Underlined letters in the menu bar indicate that a keyboard shortcut can be used. The Alt (Alternative) key is the master key for this. Example: Pressing keyboard keys ALT-F then N would create a new document in Wordpad.
2. A pushed button activates a function.
3. The Button Bar and the Format bar contain buttons for the most commonly used commands.
4. The Menu contains all the instructions a program can carry out.
5. The Keyboard Ctrl (control) key put you in control. Control key functions are also indicated in all menu bars by Ctrl+letter.
6. So it doesn't matter what program you are using, they all indicate what are the Ctrl and Alt Keyboard shortcuts.
